What Is Big Star Lake

Welcome to Big Star Lake, a 912 acre all sports-lake nestled in the beautiful Manistee National Forest in Northern Michigan. Big Star Lake features something for everybody. From listening to the call of the loons on a quiet morning, plying the pristine waters in search of a multitude of sport fish, or all types of water sports activities.

The BSLA is pleased to welcome you to Big Star Lake and we hope you get your feet wet.

Between mom and son we have nearly a century, 95 years to be exact, of going to BSL every summer weekend! My mother calls it heaven on earth.

It is beautiful and has a nice sandy bottom. Great for skiing. fishing, paddle boarding. and swimming of course. Large enough for many to play. Great sunsets too. Relaxing.
